Screw Conveyor

A screw conveyor is a versatile and widely used mechanical conveying device that is used to move bulk materials, often granular or powdery, from one point to another within a production or processing facility. Screw conveyors are characterized by a helical screw or auger that rotates inside a trough or tube, creating a continuous flow of material along its length. These conveyors are commonly used in industries such as agriculture, food processing, mining, construction, and many others.

The “flighting,” or rotary action of the helical screw blade, is what moves the material along a screw conveyor. Heavy things, like grains, can be moved by spiral screw blades that spin very quickly. A spiral blade is wrapped around a shaft and inside a trough or tube. One end is held or free, and the other end is pulled. They are used a lot in fields that work with large amounts of things. In contrast to flat conveyor belts, screw conveyors can be used to speed up the moving of semi-solid goods.
