A screw conveyor uses rotary motion of the helical screw blade, also known as the “flighting,” to transport the material. To move liquids or solids like grains, a helical screw blade spins at high speeds. Coiled around a shaft and contained in a trough or tube is a spiral blade that is held or free at one end and pushed at the other. They are widely used in the industry that deals with processing materials in bulk. Screw conveyors, in contrast to flat conveyor belts, can be utilised to elevate the movement of semi-solid commodities.
